What are the pre-requisites for remote installation of eScan

1. You need to have the systems connected to netowork (LAN)
2. Install eScan as a server on the system which is connected to internet.
3. Then 98 do the following settings
**For Win 98 systems, you need to enable the "Remote administration" from the Control Panel >> Passwords section. While entering the data at the eScan server i.e. in host configuration, please enter this password. The user name can be "administrator".
**For Win 2000 system, please enter the administrator password at eScan server. Please note that this password should not be kept blank.
**For Win XP PRO systems, please follow the preocedure given below:
(Note: You cannot connect to Win XP Home edition systems)
1. On the Windows XP Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - LocalSecurity Policy
2. Click on Local Policies - Security Options
3. On the Right hand Side Double click the option "Network Access: Sharing and Security Model for Local accounts"
4. Change the default mode to "Classic - Local user authenticate as themselves.
5. Change the value of the entry, "Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only" to "Disabled".
If you are upgrading existing eScan installation, then you need not follow the above steps.
